Dr. Holly Boffy
BESE District 7 Representative

Dr. Holly Boffy is the Vice President and District 7 Member of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). She was elected in 2011. She is also the 2010 Louisiana State Teacher of the Year. She taught middle school for 10 years and is currently the Program Director of Teacher and Leader Development for the Council of Chief State School Officers. Dr. Boffy is a National Board Certified Teacher. She earned three degrees from Louisiana State University including a Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and Education Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction. She recently graduated with a doctorate in education leadership from Walden University. Dr. Boffy is married to Carrick Boffy and has one son. With her family, Dr. Boffy organizes and hosts Fishing for Memories: A Benefit Rodeo for the Alzheimer’s Association. The event raised a quarter of a million dollars for the Alzheimer’s Association and awarded 27 lifetime fishing licenses to children and over $80,000 to adult anglers since 2009.
