
| Dr. Belinda Davis BESE At-Large Representative
Dr. Belinda Creel Davis is an associate professor of political science at Louisiana State University. She is a Baton Rouge native who earned her BA in English and political science from the University of Mississippi and her Masters and Ph.D. from Florida State University. Her research focuses on public policy. She has conducted numerous policy evaluations for various state agencies in Florida, Louisiana, and Michigan. Prior to her appointment to BESE, she served as the Assistant Director of the Public Policy Research Lab at LSU. As the parent of three boys in the East Baton Rouge Parish Public School System, she became involved in education policy at the local and state level over a decade ago. She was appointed to BESE by Governor John Bel Edwards in 2020. She currently serves as Co-Chair for the Special Education Advisory Panel and as a member of the Louisiana Children’s Cabinet and the Louisiana Educational Television Authority Board. |
