Lance Harris previously served in the Louisiana Legislature as the District 25 State Representative from 2012 to 2024. In December of 2012 Lance was elected by his Republican colleagues to serve as the Chairman of the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation. With Republicans having a majority in the House, he acted as the Majority Leader and was an active and visible leader on the House floor. Within this role, Mr. Harris also represented Louisiana on GOPAC’s Legislative Advisory Board. During his time in the legislature, he earned a reputation as champion for education. This earned him the distinction of serving as Chairman of the House Education Committee in his final term.

From 1979 to 1982, Mr. Harris attended Northwestern State University and Louisiana College to pursue a degree in piano performance. He is a 1984 graduate of the Louisiana Banking School of the South hosted by the University of Southeastern Louisiana, and began his professional career with Guaranty Bank and Trust Company. After working his way up in the banking industry, Mr. Harris began his own company. Today, his professional resume includes the following companies: Leebo’s Store, Inc.; Stokes-Harris Enterprises, Inc.; Woodside Pecan and Cattle Farms, LLC; Lance Harris Properties; Superior Farms Properties, LLC; Double L Triple D Properties, LLC; and Meylian Harris Productions, LLC.

Mr. Harris has been active in several professional, civic and personal organizations around his community. These roles and organizations include: President and Chairman of the Board of Alexandria Junior Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the England Economic Development District (England Airpark Authority) ; Central Louisiana Volunteers of America Advisory Board; North Louisiana Volunteers Of America Board of Directors; Cenla Advantage Partnership (CAP) Board Member; Alexandria Business Incubator Board Member; Alexandria Mardi Gras Association Board Member.

Mr. Harris has been a resident of Central Louisiana for 62 years and has been married to Leetha Harris for 39 years.
