Advisory: BESE calls special meeting to consider next steps in selecting new State Superintendent

The Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) has called a special meeting for this Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10:00 am to consider next steps regarding the selection of a new State Superintendent of Education. The meeting will be held in the Louisiana Purchase Room of the Claiborne Building, 1201 N. 3rd Street, Baton Rouge.

At the meeting the Board will formally receive the resignation of Superintendent John White and discuss necessary transition activities in moving toward the selection of his replacement. The agenda also includes the ceremonial swearing-in of new members and the election of 2020 BESE officers.
